About

Welcome to Cottonwood Elementary School! We are so glad that you are here!

Cottonwood is named after a lone cottonwood tree that was alive at the time the town was founded, in the early 1840s. The town incorporated in 1901, and the first school was built in the early 1900s. That structure burned, and a new one was built in 1927. We are a Preschool-6th grade school. We serve approximately 550 students and have a total of 65 employees-46% of our faculty members’ highest degree is at the Bachelor’s level & 54% of faculty members hold a Master’s Degree. Seventeen staff members have held a certified position for 0-10 years, eleven for 11-20 years, and seven staff members for 21 years or more.
